Improving the quality in recycled material
Overview MRW

“Quality is the cornerstone of effective recycling”
Liz Goodwin, Chief Executive, WRAP

Recycling rates are on the up. In 2007 94% of local authorities recycled more of their household waste than the previous year. But quantity is not enough. To meet recycling targets, reduce waste sent to landfill, and expand domestic and international end markets we must make significant strides to improve quality.

Quality must now be at the heart of your recycling strategy. Focusing solely on quantity will mean that a significant number of markets will be closed to you. Without these markets you will be forced to send more to landfill and will fail to meet the ever-expanding recycling targets. You must act now to find solutions to your quality shortfalls and ensure that your authority is one of those leading on recycling rates AND levels of quality.

To discuss the importance of high quality and seek out ways to achieve it attend MRW’s Improving the Quality of Recycled Material conference.

This conference is your opportunity to:
  • Understand the benefits of improving quality
  • Assess where improvements are most needed and why
  • Hear an exclusive debate on commingled vs source separated collection
  • Learn from leading authorities on successful ways to educate and engage the community to drive quality levels up
  • Explore new methods and technologies at MRFs
  • Review current quality levels and future market prospects for plastics and compost with special focus sessions
Take a day out of the office to hear best practice solutions from the entire recycling supply chain. Can you afford to miss it?

An event not to be missed by:
  • Local authorities
  • Waste Management Companies
  • Recycling Companies
  • Waste Reprocessors
  • Consultants
  • Financiers
  • End users

…and anyone involved in the recycling supply chain
